Comment from Tezza: Discrimination against men now appears to be the norm. Men traveling on airlines are now becoming the ‘Rosa Parks’ of today, the only difference being race discrimination as opposed to gender discrimination. Rosa Parks was told not to sit next to white people because she was black. Men, on the other hand, who fly on British Airways, Qantas, and Air New Zealand, are now told not to sit next to unaccompanied children because they are men. In other words, these airlines treat all men as pedophiles.

This is another clear example of how the politically correct like to punish everyone to protect a few. Surely if they are so concerned about pedophiles being everywhere, they need to rethink their policies regarding children traveling alone, or in separate seats from their parents. But, no, that would mean fewer sales, so let’s just discriminate against men.

I have no idea where all this phobia about pedophiles came from; it was not around 20 or 30 years ago? Are there more pedophiles today than yesterday? Did millions of pedophiles spring up from nowhere in the past couple of decades? These days you can’t even take photos of your children at parks, swimming pools, and at beaches, etc. Have these policy makers considered the majority for one moment?

Now that these airlines are openly getting away with this discriminatory policy, will train and bus companies follow? Can you imagine a bus driver coming up to you and asking you to move because you are a man, as men are not allowed to sit next to unaccompanied children (going to school or wherever)?

I don’t know about you, but I certainly will never fly on those airlines again. Read the stories.

Revealed: How BA bans men sitting next to children they don’t know
Daily Mail

British Airways has been accused of treating all men passengers as potential sex offenders after it was revealed it has banned children from sitting next to male strangers - even if their parents are on the same flight.

The bizarre regulation came to light when a nine-year-old girl was moved from her seat next to a 76-year-old passenger and his wife on a flight from Malaga to London.

Instead her mother was told by a stewardess to take the seat next to retired journalist Michael Kemp and his wife Frances, and the girl was moved to the back of the plane.

Mrs Kemp had booked an aisle seat because a bad leg meant she needed extra space. But as the Airbus A320 filled up, she was asked to swap seats with her husband so that she, not he, would be sitting next to the girl.

Mrs Kemp politely declined, explaining to the stewardess that she had asked for an aisle seat to avoid discomfort during the three-hour flight.

But when Mr Kemp offered to move to the window seat so that the girl could sit between him and his wife, the stewardess said it would still breach the airline’s child-welfare regulations.

Mr Kemp, from Kensington, West London, said last night: “The little girl’s mother put her in the window seat next to me and then went to her own seat further back.

“When everyone was seated, the stewardess asked my wife if she would sit next to the girl. Frances explained why she couldn’t move and I thought I could resolve the problem by moving up and letting the girl sit between us.

“To my amazement, the stewardess said BA had a rule that no unaccompanied child under 16 may be seated next to an adult male stranger - even if there’s a woman on the other side. Read more from source

Ban on men sitting next to children
New Zealand Herald

Air New Zealand and Qantas have banned men from sitting next to unaccompanied children on flights, sparking accusations of discrimination.

The airlines have come under fire for the policy that critics say is political correctness gone mad after a man revealed he was ordered to change seats during a Qantas flight because he was sitting next to a young boy travelling alone.

Auckland man Mark Worsley says an air steward approached him after take-off on the Christchurch to Auckland flight and told him to change seats with a women sitting two rows in front. The steward said it was the airline’s policy that only women were allowed to sit next to unaccompanied children.

“At the time I was so gobsmacked that I moved. I was so embarrassed and just stewed on it for the entire flight.”

The 37-year-old shipping manager, who has 2-year-old twins, followed the incident up with the airline and was told Qantas wanted to err on the side of caution.

“I felt that it was totally discriminatory. Besides the point of what the hell was I going to do on a crowded flight.” Read more from source
